Retail checkout

Sell one piece without losing the paper trail.

Select one available piece, review the price and tax, record the tender and save the original receipt with the sale.

01 · Select

Start with one available piece.

Choose one available item and the open till. The queue is a starting point; the sale rechecks that the piece is still available and not held, in transit or reserved for refining before it records anything.

  • A single available whole item.
  • The open till.
  • Current stock and custody.
  • A reviewed total before the sale.

02 · Review

See the total before the sale.

The store’s recorded price and tax rate produce the review total. The sample uses 8.25%. Price plus tax is rounded to cents. If the store rounds cash totals to the nearest nickel, the adjustment stays visible. A card total does not take the cash rounding.

Change is calculated from the recorded cash tender, not typed as a separate number.

Sample arithmetic only. Not a live sale or customer record.

03 · Tender

Record the tender for what it is.

Cash is recorded as cash. A card payment is recorded from an external terminal, with the tender saved for the receipt. Troctolite does not process the card, connect to a terminal or settle funds.

A recorded card tender must equal the total exactly and has no cash change. Split tender, customer credit, buy and pawn are outside this checkout.

No terminal processing

A recorded external tender is a record of the payment method. It is not a card-processing or settlement integration.

04 · Receipt

Save the original receipt.

The completed sale records the item, the tender, any cash movement and the original receipt together. The receipt freezes the item, price, tax, rounding, tender and recorded time.

The cashier who recorded the sale can reopen that receipt with the saved sale reference while they still have read access to the store. This is a lookup, not a general receipt history or search. Another cashier cannot retrieve it through this route, even with a manager role.

If a response is lost, check the original receipt with the saved sale reference before retrying. A matching retry returns the same sale, not a second one.

Good to know

The store’s recorded tax rate is used. This checkout does not choose a tax jurisdiction. Returns, refunds and voids are not part of this workflow.

Bring a sale with an awkward edge.

A cash rounding question, a recorded card tender and a receipt lookup make the workflow concrete.
