Stock & locations

Know where
the piece is.

An estimate, an item and available stock are different things. A handoff between shops should keep that distinction intact.

Keep a recognizable stock record.

The inventory view lists store-scoped items with a name, SKU, category or karat, weight, status, cost basis and asking price. Those fields make a piece identifiable in the shop that holds it.

A saved estimate does not itself purchase the piece. Keeping neutral valuation separate from acquired stock prevents an uncompleted buying conversation from appearing as sellable inventory.

A transfer has more than one state.

  1. Create the transfer.

Choose the source, destination and item. Availability must account for the pending handoff.

  2. Dispatch the item.

The source no longer treats the piece as ready to sell. The destination has not yet received it.

  3. Receive it at the destination.

Complete the handoff before the destination makes it available. Retain the route and history.

  4. Handle retries and cancellations.

Repeating a successful request should resolve to the same transfer. Cancellation must respect whether the piece has already left.

The implemented transfer path is in controlled early-access review and has isolated concurrency acceptance coverage. The public stock preview lets you explore the states with sample data.

Ask the awkward stock questions.

ScenarioWhat should be demonstrated
A customer offer is still openThe item cannot also be sold or sent to another location.
The piece is in transitIt is unavailable for sale at both ends of the route.
The same transfer request is retriedIt resolves consistently without creating duplicate handoffs.
The offer expiresThe prior item state is restored; unpurchased intake does not become available stock.
A person switches storesTheir actual organization and store access is checked for the new context.

What comes after basic inventory?

Physical stocktakes, discrepancy resolution, bulk editing, labels, component-level jewelry records, consolidated reporting and commerce synchronization remain areas of product work. Multi-store access alone is not the same as a complete enterprise inventory system.

Use the migration guide to build a representative test file. Include held, sold, reserved and in-transit pieces rather than only clean available stock.
